Pressure Wave Cleaning With Gas Explosions


The basic principle of our cleaning technology is the creation of detonation combustion shock- or pressure waves. This is achieved by detonating a gas mixture of commercially available industrial gases, which are commonly used in industrial facilities.
Shock waves of up to 350 bar initial pressure typically propagate inside of the boiler at some 2,000 meters per second and impact directly on surfaces to be cleaned, but as importantly, create vibrations on the boiler walls and tubes causing ash deposits and slag to fall off the surfaces.

These velocities and pressures are similar to steam soot blowing and are unlikely to cause damage to boiler tubing and boiler walls.


Bang&Clean Method

Specially prepared heat-resistant bags mounted at the tip of a water-cooled lance are introduced into a boiler near the area to be cleaned. The bag is inflated with an explosive mixture of commercially available gases, and with the assistance of brought to a controlled detonation by remote control.
